The window for high school spring sports in Alaska is a short one, and programs must make the most of the weather and facilities provided. Schools in the Southcentral and Interior are navigating through April snowfalls, while areas like Sitka and Kodiak have seen action on the baseball diamond. The Dome has been home to track and field and soccer, while Valley schools like Wasilla and Colony are playing outside on the pitch.

While the lack of snow and poor trail conditions have altered, or canceled dog sled races throughout the state this year, there is no shortage of snow on the Northwest Alaska trails.
