ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Standing at the top of the Two-Foot High Kick podium, Anchorage A’s Quentin O’Domin couldn’t believe it.

“It’s kinda surreal. Last year, I was a reserve for everything,” O’Domin said. “Now, I’m a winner.”

Competing for the second time in the Native Youth Olympics, O’Domin had a dream performance; the high school junior finished top 5 in four separate events, bringing home the gold in both the one- and two-foot high kick.

His 98-inch jump in the latter was just three inches away from the Alaska state record set by Colton Paul.

“It’s crazy man, I don’t believe it. It feels so cool,” he said.

And thats a wrap on day 2 of the #NYO25 Games! Congratulations to our Two-Foot High Kick winners! We'll be back at it...

That performance helped Anchorage A earn a spot on the overall team list, placing fifth in the final standings.

It also helped O’Domin earn individual honors as he was named the boy overall athlete alongside girls winner and former AOTW selection CC Carter.

“I was not expecting to win it at all. I don’t even know what to say. I’m so honored to get this award. I’m so honored to be around all these people,” O’Domin said. “I credit it to my community man. I don’t want to credit myself, even though I did the work, I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the people around me.”

With his name now known around the games, O’Domin has high expectations for next year.

“World record? Maybe?” O’Domin said confidently.
