Kentucky Derby fans come together at Fairbanks watch party

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTUU/KTVF) - Lavelle’s Bistro hosted a watch party in Downtown Fairbanks as the 2025 Kentucky Derby sped on. Horse racing fans come together to dress up, enjoy great drinks, and have a good time.
One person in attendance was Trish Taylor who follows the Derby closely.
“I’ve always been a big fan of the Kentucky Derby,” Taylor said, “winning, picking numbers just gambling in general, it’s fun.”
Taylor also said social media has a big part in the sport’s popularity. Saying it makes it, “easier to follow those types of places so you can see what’s going on”.
The event also had photo booths and a trivia for chance to win prizes.
