Fishing Report: How to report your dipnet harvest online only by Aug. 31
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - As rules and regulations continue to be updated throughout the fishing season, there’s one order that will not change. All dipnet fisheries in the Upper Cook Inlet are closed, including Kenai, Kasilof, Susitna River and Fish Creek.
Alaska residents with a personal use salmon permit must report their harvest online by Aug. 31, whether they went dipnetting or not.
“The easiest way to report the numbers - or your did not fish harvest - is through our online reporting tool,” Katelyn Zonneville, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game Information Officer for the Division of Sport Fish, said. “But the easiest way if you have a paper permit is to scan the QR code at the bottom of your permit and it will bring your permit up for yourself and you’re able to report your harvest or press ‘did not fish.’”

The harvest report is due by Aug. 31 and can only be done online or in the mobile app.
“Mailing in your reports, dropping them off at the office, or trying to report over the phone is no longer an acceptable means of turning in your reports, so you must turn it in online only,” Zonneville added. “If you do not have a computer, you can come to an office for help with it.”
And those who went dipnetting this year should have a decent number of fish to report.
“The Upper Cook Inlet Dipnet Fisheries were fantastic this year,” Zonneville said. “The runs were really large and everybody who has come in to report their harvest or get help reporting has told us they had a great time.”
After reporting your harvest, you should receive a confirmation email in your inbox. If you reported through the app and did not receive a confirmation email, ADF&G suggests updating the mobile app. An email was also sent on Aug. 6 to registered anglers with how to report.
