ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - With just a few weeks to go until senior day, UAA Gymnast Montana Fairbairn is still taking it all in.

“I’ve really been trusting my training and the process and going out there and having fun with my team. it’s my last year here, so I just want to enjoy every moment,” Fairbairn said following the team’s home opener against Greenville.

If that includes the type of performance she put up last weekend, we don’t think the home crowd will mind.

Debuting in the main arena for the first time in 2025, Fairbairn crushed it. The Strathmore, Alberta native placed first in six routines. Taking the top spot on the podium in every event she took part in over the two-day meet. The week prior, Fairbairn achieved a new career high on the floor, earning a 9.85 against U.C. Davis.

“Montana truly delivered on her gymnastics the last few days,” Seawolves head coach Marie-Sophie Boggasch said.

According to the UAA schedule, Fairbairn now has just one meet remaining on the home floor. The Seawolves welcome Sacramento State to town on Feb. 21 and 23. Though she says there’s still much she wants to accomplish, Fairbairn’s mind is already made regarding the place she’s called home for the last half-decade.

“The thing I’m going to remember the most from UAA is just how positive the team was. The coaches, the environment, the campus. I love everything about it and it’s been the best decision and best journey of my life.”
