NOME, Alaska (KTUU) - The frontrunners in Iron Dog 2025 reached the halfway point in Nome Tuesday afternoon.

Team 20, piloted by former Iron Dog champs Bradley George and Robby Schachle, was the first to pull off the sea ice and into the city streets, riding under the inflatable arch shortly before 2:30 p.m.

Pro Class teams were en route to the Iron Dog halfway point Tuesday morning. Teams left the Kotzebue checkpoint starting at 8 a.m., embarking on the nearly five-hour journey to Nome.

Casey Boylan and Bryan Leslie of Team 14 arrived in Nome in second place, about 22 minutes behind, while Team 9’s Evan Barber and Troy Conlon pulled in third.

The race leaders have now completed 1,468 miles out of 2,503 total this year.
