ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - In this week’s Weather Lab, Chief Meteorologist Melissa Frey is taking us to Ursa Minor Elementary.

From Texas to Germany to South Korea, many of these 5 and 6-year-olds living on base have traveled the world and seen a wide variety of weather, but now they’re getting to learn what makes Alaska’s weather unique.

Melissa showed them what’s special about our state and how different types of weather are formed.
