ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - From stratus to cirrus and cumulus to cumulonimbus, the fourth-graders at Bowman Elementary School can tell you all about clouds, and why it’s important to know the difference between them!

In this week’s Weather Lab, Chief Meteorologist Melissa Frey joined the fourth-grade class with a lesson about how meteorologists use clouds and satellite data to help them forecast the weather by tracking how they’re changing and by knowing what kind of weather each cloud type brings.

Next week, Melissa will take us to Alaska Native Cultural Charter School where the students have been working hard on science fair projects the past few weeks and are learning more about the natural resources we have in Alaska, and why the weather is so important.
