ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - The Anchorage weekend market is kicking off its season on Mother’s Day weekend.

According to Michelle Victory, owner of Alaska Markets and Events, the weekend market is entering it’s 33rd year in 2025. Though they’ve changed locations in the past, Victory says a downtown location speaks to the event’s spirit.

The vendor lineup varies widely from food to art or gifts — almost all of which Victory says are Alaskan-made.

While some might consider the market largely a tourist attraction, Victory said she knows locals love it too. According to her, it’s a chance to support Alaska businesses.

“I would encourage locals come down and just shop the small business owners,” Victory said, “You’ll be meeting the actual owner who made it.”

The market season runs every weekend until September.
