Orphaned sea otter pup rescued from Homer beach
SEWARD, Alaska (KTUU) - A young female sea otter pup was rescued from a beach in Homer by the Alaska SeaLife Center Wildlife Response volunteers.
The little one was found alone, dehydrated, and malnourished, and she is believed to be around two months old.
The veterinary team also found a suspected injury to one of her front paws.

“It was a super quick response by our Homer team that gave this little girl a chance,” Husbandry Coordinator Deanna Trobaugh said.
Wildlife Response Curator Jane Belovarac said sea otter pups like her need 24/7 care.
“They rely on their mothers for everything from grooming to nutrition, and when a pup is orphaned, it’s up to our team to step in. We’re doing everything we can to give this pup the best possible start,” Belovarac said.
The Alaska SeaLife Center is continuing her recovery in Seward.
