Mat-Su Borough School District Superintendent speaks on academic improvements
PALMER, Alaska (KTUU) - As a superintendent for five years and educator for several decades, Mat-Su Borough School District’s Randy Trani has seen a lot of changes in the school system.
And while Trani says there are no big changes for Alaska’s second-largest school district this year, Trani says they’ve made big improvements academically.
In the last three years, Trani said the district has seen a bump in its graduation rates.
“We’re just seeing lots of academic growth and improvement across all demographics and across all grade levels,” he said.
The first day of school for students in the Mat-Su Borough is Thursday, Aug. 15.
