College Gate students learn about career options in their community
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - It’s career week at College Gate Elementary School and Melissa Frey got the chance to visit with the first, second and third graders, sharing with them what it’s like to be a broadcast meteorologist.
The students had a lot of great questions for Melissa, including what she likes about her job, and what the hardest part is.
They have a lot of time before they have to figure out what they want to be when they grow up, but they’re getting to see some of the possibilities now.
This week, they will learn about a wide variety of career options in our community, hearing from pilots and nurses to educators and CEOs, and learning about jobs in law enforcement, the arts, business, and engineering.
Melissa was very impressed with their thoughtful questions and curiosity.
