Alaska mother arrested after leaving toddler alone in car to go on ‘romantic rendezvous’, troopers say
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - A Fairbanks mother is behind bars after leaving her 20-month-old child alone inside a parked car outside a Healy bar and hotel, according to Alaska State Troopers.
In a Wednesday dispatch, troopers say 38-year-old Lillian Johnson was charged with first-degree child endangerment and taken to Fairbanks Correctional Center.
An investigation revealed Johnson’s child was left alone inside a parked car without heat for about a half hour on Tuesday evening to go on a ‘romantic rendezvous.’
“The child was crying, the vehicle was off, with a window partly opened with outside temperatures at 6 degrees Fahrenheit,” troopers wrote.
Tri-Valley EMS was dispatched to the hotel and treated the child for hypothermia, according to troopers.
