WASILLA, Alaska (KTUU) - A weekend altercation at a Mat-Su movie theater left an employee of the theater shaken as she claims she was “body-slammed” during an altercation involving a group of teens.

According to a Wasilla Police Department press release, officers responded to a call reporting “a large group of rowdy teenagers” at the Valley Cinema in Wasilla at around 9 p.m. Friday, which was during a showing of the “Minecraft Movie” at the theater.

A video that surfaced on social media over the weekend appears to show a confrontation between movie theater staff and moviegoers, with the quarrel resulting in a woman – who is an employee at the theater – being struck.

Police did not say whether or not the incident had anything to do with a broader, nationwide trend, though national outlets have reported calls to police over rowdy behavior during a particular scene in the film.

Before declining to participate in an on-camera interview, the woman told Alaska’s News Source the incident happened during her first day on the job. WPD said the teens left the theater “without incident,” sharing only limited information in its release to the public.

No charges have been filed, according to the Wasilla Police Department.
