Roadtrippin’ 2024: Chena Hot Springs Resort offers a vacation style for everyone
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTUU) - Chena Hot Springs Resort offers several accommodations to fit everybody’s vacationing style.
For guests wanting a more traditional hotel experience, the resort offers traditional hotel rooms with two queen beds and a private bathroom at their Moose Lodge. Specific to this lodge, guest rooms come with a landline to contact guest services.
Guests wishing to take their Alaskan experience to the next level can opt to stay in one of the seasonal yurts on the premises. Yurts are only open from the late spring until it begins freezing overnight in the fall and come with a table and two cots. This is one of the resort’s dry options — no running water.
“It’s excellent for people coming out of state who might want to go camping, but not have brought all their equipment to do so with them,” Nicholle Minnerly, the Chena Hot Springs Resort Manager said.
Guests can also stay in several dry cabins that are located around the property. Each cabin varies in size and what amenities are available.
In the future, more options will be available. Minnerly said the resort is in the process of transforming a Douglas DC-6 plane and an Alaska Railroad car into hotel spaces.
