ITG: JBER lovebirds celebrate Valentine’s Day
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Love is in the air on Joint-Base Elmendorf Richardson and some service members shared their stories.
Airmen Miguel and Madison Garcia weren’t married long before Miguel received orders to relocate from Georgia to Italy for Air Force duties.
A couple of years into Miguel’s service, Madison decided to enlist too.
“Our honeymoon was three and a half years [long],” Miguel joked. “Every month we were exploring different countries and that was amazing … that’s something we never thought of ever doing.”
Another couple stationed at JBER, Tech. Sgt. Sean and Staff Sgt. Daisy Musrasrik met on the other side of the world in South Korea.
They met in January 2023 and were married that July.
“The first thing that caught my attention was her smile,” Sean said. “ It was just her energy, the way that she lights up a room. She walks in and everybody naturally gravitates towards her, including me.”
