And the 2025 Fur Rondy collector pin is...
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - The 2025 Fur Rendezvous collector pin design was unveiled Friday, featuring a white and black raven.
The designer of the pin, Richard Rearick, said the famous white raven that was spotted throughout Anchorage over the last year or so inspired the design.
The new design is usually selected during a contest and tends to capture the spirit of Alaska. 2025 will be the 90-year anniversary of the festival.
“I think with the white raven ... people saw the beauty in it because it was different. And I kind of wish that in our society, people would look at the difference and find the beauty in the differences,” Rearick said. “And I think with with Anchorage, we are a very diverse city. There are a lot of different cultures here, and Fur Rondy celebrates those cultures, but it celebrates us as a single culture too.”
The pin is available for sale right now.
The Fur Rendezvous festival will run from Feb. 20 to March 2, 2025.
