Dimond Center giving away 250 backpacks of school supplies

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - The Dimond Center in Anchorage is hosting a backpack and school supply giveaway on Saturday to ease the burden for families in need of supplies.
The Back to School Bash starts at noon with the backpack giveaway slated for 12:30 p.m. at the information desk.
Event organizers suggest an early arrival for families wishing to receive a backpack. A total of 250 backpacks will be handed out on a first-come, first-serve basis. Kids have to be present to receive one.
There will also be live music and games.
