LaFrance maintains strong lead over Bronson in runoff race for mayor

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Suzanne LaFrance’s lead over incumbent Mayor Dave Bronson stayed steady with the latest drop of election results Friday.
The runoff race for Anchorage mayor continued to see LaFrance in the lead by over 5,000 votes, giving her 53.5% of the vote with 78,377 ballots counted. Bronson has 46.5% of the vote, carrying 36,445 votes to LaFrance’s 41,932.
Friday’s release saw LaFrance’s lead increase by 361 votes, from 5,126 on Thursday to 5,487 on Friday.
LaFrance is attempting to become the first elected female mayor of Anchorage.
